"Hugh MacPherson is Research Director of the Foundation for Traditional Chinese Medicine, based in York, where he undertakes research into the evidence on acupuncture’s effectiveness and safety. He also practices acupuncture two days a week at the York Clinic. As Principal of the Northern College of Acupuncture in York, he led the College to validation of an MSc with the University of Wales in 1995, the first degree course in acupuncture in the UK. 'I continue to feel excited by my work both as an acupuncturist in practice and as a researcher in developing meaningful evidence for acupuncture'."
